This week’s Dawn of Autonomy podcast features Dr. Jack Elston, the CEO and co-founder of Black Swift Technologies. Jack’s journey into complex ops began when he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Boulder where he created a sophisticated network, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and control algorithms for sampling tornadic supercell thunderstorms.
Since then, he has exclusively created and operated UAS across a wide range of hazardous environments with his company, Black Swift Technologies (BST). Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, and established in 2011, BST is renowned for providing dependable, resilient, and highly precise UAS capable of carrying scientific payloads in challenging atmospheric conditions (high-altitude, arctic, desert, corrosive particulates, and strong turbulence).
