Preflight

Powering On

This begins once you have assembled the S1 aircraft and the SwiftStation.

  • Turn on your RC hand controller (always make sure the throttle stick is down).
  • Turn on the SwiftStation and tablet. Start the SwiftTab app.
  • Insert a fully charged flight battery into the S1.
  • Press it down to secure the Dual Lock on the battery to the fuselage.
  • Connect the battery leads from the Battery to the one in the fuselage.
  • Re-attach the canopy.
  • Power on the aircraft with the arming pin.
  • Perform the SwiftTab Pre-flight Checklist
  • With the checklist complete and the aircraft Ready for Flight enable the motor and throw the aircraft.

Tip

For throwing the aircraft the goal is give it speed over height. Simply push the aircraft forward through the air, similar to a javellin throw. A longer consistent motion is preferable to a fast jerky throw.

Validate Manual / Auto Control

The following diagrams provide an overview of the handset for checking the surfaces in preflight. BST does not recommend manual flight of the S1 unless you have experience with operating RC aircraft.
